Cleanings

Maintaining a healthy mouth is dependent on one main factor: keeping plaque and food debris from building up and attracting damaging bacteria. If you allow plaque and food debris to build, the bacteria can cause unwanted conditions including cavities, gum disease, and offending breath. To win the fight against bacteria brush your teeth after every meal, floss daily, and visit your dentist regularly for checkups and bi-annual cleanings.

Check-up exams

During your check-up exam, the doctor will assess your oral health and hygiene by analyzing your risk of tooth decay, gum, and bone disease. The doctor will also evaluate the function of your smile and determine if you could benefit from tooth restoration or replacement. In addition to an oral exam, we may also require x-rays and other diagnostic procedures to make an accurate diagnosis.

Restorative Dentistry (Fillings)

A filling is used to repair a tooth that has a cavity or is cracked, broken, or worn down. The damage could have been caused by bad habits such as nail-biting, tooth-grinding, or lack of oral hygiene. However, trauma is also a known culprit. If there is any decay on the tooth, that portion has to be removed first and then the doctor can fill the tooth with an appropriate material such as composite resin, hybrid resin, amalgam or ceramic.

Crowns and Bridges

Crowns and bridges are used to restore teeth that are weak and have reduced function or are missing completely. A crown is a cap that covers the tooth to restore its looks and functions after it has been damaged. A bridge is used to restore a missing tooth or teeth and is situated between two crowns. Both crowns and bridges will allow you to regain your lost confidence in business and social environments while allowing you to regain the dental function eat all the foods you love.

Root Canals

Root canal treatments or endodontics is used to remove infections that have made their way into the nerve of the tooth. This is done by removing the pulp of the teeth and disinfecting the nerve canal. This procedure is painless and allows the function of the tooth to be restored rather than extracting the damaged tooth. A tooth infection can be caused by tooth decay, a leaky filling, damage to the tooth from trauma or injury.

Extractions are a last resort option for Beamsville Smiles. Our philosophy is that the best option is to try to save your natural tooth using restorative dental techniques such as fillings, crowns, and root canals. Soft Tissue Laser Treatments

Dental diode lasers, sometimes called soft-tissue lasers, are ideal for procedures that involve cutting or contouring oral soft tissues. As a clinical tool, diode lasers offer a wide range of clinical treatment possibilities as they are capable of creating precision cuts in gingiva and other soft tissues while also eliminating bleeding at the site and reducing the healing time for the patient. Dental diode lasers can also be used to effectively reduce pain and healing time of cold sores and oral ulcers.
